The 'University of Liverpool Creative Writing Society for Lifelong Learning' meets up on a weekly basis on a Tuesday evening, from 7pm until 9pm, in the upstairs room of the 'Ship and Mitre' public house, Dale Street, Liverpool. It is very close to Hatton Garden and opposite Dale Street end of the flyover. There is plenty of car parking facilities directly underneath the flyover, and for our new members who may need to Sat Nav it the address is: 133 Dale Street, Liverpool L2 2JH.

We are an informal writing group in a friendly, relaxed but very creative atmosphere, who workshop and discuss the theory and practice of creative writing. People who are already writing or those who have just begun are all welcome. We workshop all genres of creative writing, whether it be poetry, prose, short stories, sketches or script-writing for radio, television, situation comedy or the stage.

We feel that everybody has a story to tell so please bring yours with you or any piece of writing that you would like to have work-shopped. We will offer you constructive criticism, discussing strengths and weaknesses of your piece. We always offer writers encouragement in all aspects of their writing. Negativity has never had a place here in our group.

Each week we have an idea or theme put forward by a group member to offer writers a challenge; this is purely optional as you may want to write about something totally different or maybe nothing at all, the choice will always be yours.

If you would like to attend our group, or would like further information, please contact the Group Secretary, Tommy McBride by email or telephone:
